Seeking Connections and Memories of David for his family

We at Jamband Graveyard are reaching out on behalf of David’s son, Kyle, who’s on a heartfelt quest to connect with his father’s legacy. David was a compassionate, fun-loving guy with a deep love for music, especially Phish and the Grateful Dead. His favorite song was “Scarlet Begonias.” David was born in the mid-70s, so he would have been in his early twenties during his peak Phish years.

David’s interests spanned beyond music to include Pink Floyd, NASCAR, video games, the Green Bay Packers, and having a blast. He taught his children to treat everyone with kindness and respect—a lesson that continues to guide them to this day. David passed away in August 2016 at the age of 40 due to cardiac arrest. Despite this, he lived a fulfilling and happy life, and his legacy lives on through his children.

Kyle shared his story with us, expressing a deep desire to connect with the music that meant so much to his father. Kyle learned from his uncle (David’s brother) that David got into Phish in the late nineties after moving to Minocqua, Wisconsin, where he was introduced by friends he met there. He was as much a fan of the scene as he was of the music, and surely made many friends along the way.

Kyle hopes to learn about specific show dates his father might have attended, hear about legendary moments, or discover his father’s favorite songs.

If you have any stories, pictures, or memories of David from your time touring, please share them with us. Your contributions would mean the world to Kyle and help him connect with his father’s musical legacy.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you can provide!
